A Cat A car will have suffered extensive damage and have no economically salvageable parts. It may have been severely damaged in an accident or a total burn-out. A Bdriving licence category would be motor vehicles not exceeding 550kg and a Ccategory driving licence (large goods vehicle) allows you to drive vehicles weighing between 5and 500kg. The standard UK driving licence covers category B, which enables the holder to drive any vehicle weighing up to 500kg (ortonnes). Whether this vehicle is a car with eight passenger seats or a van simply does not matter.
