This two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed and collision regulations.

The river gives drivers the chance to experience driving in flowing water and navigation as well as practical application of the ‘Rules of the Road’. This is the highest and most versatile version of the course that will enable you to helm a boat on any type of water including rivers, lakes or the open sea.
You will begin by developing your low speed close quarter boat handling skills before being introduced to driving at planing speed. ICCs are required in many European countries when using or chartering vessels. It is the most popular course and the two days over which it is run gives plenty of time for both practical instruction and theory.

The aim of the Level powerboat course is to provide training and develop skills in powerboats to enable the user to undertake daytime passages in inland and coastal tidal waters.
